For the 5800 group the brakeset takes a huge step towards those found in the more expensive Ultegra and Dura-Ace groups. This is mostly thanks to a change to the same symmetrical dual pivot design resulting in a claimed 10 increase in braking power. These brakes also use a pair of bearings at the pivots for smoother operation and their taller arches are built to clear 28mm tires for added versatility.
